The Seer's Vision
05:23
|
|
||
Come forth, seer. Share with us your vision
Ritual wandering has revealed a coming storm
A wall of frost approaches from the north
The veil between two worlds will be shattered
Behind the wall, he sleeps, and soon he will rise
Ancient one, great and strong, must be sundered
For the fate of our kind and our ways
For the sake of our kin and the sun’s rays
Jotun ancient shall gather with his brothers
Opening gates of winter with their might
Gather, you warriors, come forth in great numbers
Sharpen your axes, swords, and spears for the coming battle
Behind the wall, he sleeps, and soon he will rise
Ancient one, great and strong, must be sundered
For the fate of our kind and our ways
For the sake of our kin and the sun’s rays
Ancient chaos composed of stone and frost
Vast beyond measure, he’s slept since times long lost
Mountains and fortresses shall fall under their might
Who will save us from our hopeless plight?
Behind the wall, he sleeps, and soon he will rise
Ancient one, great and strong, must be sundered
For the fate of our kind and our ways
For the sake of our kin and the sun’s rays
From the woods comes a light
From the woods comes a light

Four Hooves
02:15
|
|
||
Four hooves race through the forest,
Four hooves are making haste
I’ve got to reach the village
I’ve got to reach the gate
My path is fraught with danger,
Through peril, my quest takes me
The pits, the destination
A Jotun I must slay
A sudden thunder explodes forth from the earth
Firs and hills are rent unto their sides
Driving snow blasts out from the north
Gates have been opened, the veil has now been breached
Horizon shatters, the mountains break like glass
The seer’s words are burning in my ears
A hermit swordsmith, a weapon to be forged
To end this chaos before it’s fully formed
Four hooves are racing faster
Four aching limbs in pain
I hear the Aesir calling
Their voices pound like rain
“Do not fail us, chosen one.
If you do, Midgard is fucked.”
My name will live on forever
My name will live on forever
Four hooves are growing weaker
Four hooves fall to the earth
I must abandon my steed
And carry forth on foot

Mountain Crusher
04:27
|
|
||
Coming forth from Jotunheim
Giants smash the Gates of Winter
Bringing forth a wall of wrathful frost
Blotting out the sun
Force of nature unleashed from its prison
Vengeful beings of frost coming forth
Crushing chaos summoned, smashing mountains
Crashing down with glacial might, unstoppable
Jotun horde crushes earth
Winter grips the land in deadly clutch
Fimbulvetr, wall of wrathful frost
Blotting out the sun

The Forging Ritual
05:39
|
|
||
A force assembled, we journey to the mountains
To seek the swordsmith, residing there
To seek the aid of his weaponry
All who know this hermit speak of his skill
“Swordsmith, come forth from your cave,
We call upon your prowess and your strength
A blade we need, to send back
Those foes which have breached the gates
Foul things from beyond the winter gates”
There comes a stirring from the cave
“We forge this blade, black steel, to fucking kill off giants.
I forge this steel imbued with blood from fucking giants.
Heat with fire, cool with snow, burning forge, we’ve only just begun.
Hammering, folding, tempering, this blade for slaying giants.”
These fumes of red-hot steel
And Jotunn blood
Fill me with new found drive
And strength to spare
I see the bastard’s eyes
Glowing like flames
The dreaded Jotunn, Fornjot
Has seen my face
Fornjot, the source of wind,
Has stole the throne of Thrym.
Usurping and seizing
Power in Jotunheim.
He seeks to bring the twilight,
The Ragnarok
Defying prophesy,
Deceiving the gods

Gates Of Winter
06:48
|
|

Come forth, Fjolsvin, guardian, watcher of the gates of winter
Come forth, Fjolsvin, ancient one, face me now and meet thy fate
Face me, one who gazes on me now
Fight me, dweller, keeper of the gates
“I have seen from afar
Your quest, your fight.
Bearing blade of black steel
I know now I will die.”
Fall now, Fjolsvin, guardian, watcher of the gates of winter
Fall now, Fjolsvin, ancient one fall down to your knees
Taste my steel slashing through your skull, burning down into your core
Open, Gates of Winter, crashing forth, opening to giant-realm

Descent
05:35
|
|
||
So we have begun our descent into Jotunheim
Frost grips the land in its icy hold, footfalls crunching snow
Ancient realm of unceasing frost, hard-packed frozen earth
Beneath the mountain, towering, lies the giant’s pit
You will fail, human
My strength knows no bounds
You will die, buried, in a tomb of ice
You will fail human
My strength knows no bounds
I will lie in wait
For our battle
I will continue where all others paled
Marching through the harsh winds
and never straying from this path
This place so dark and cold, my body is numb
The further I travel, the closer death gets
My blade is thirsty and my hands tighten on the grip
my mind is set, my path has been chosen
I will slay this prick or die trying
You will fail, human
My strength knows no bounds
You will die, buried, in a tomb of ice
You will fail human
My strength knows no bounds
I will lie in wait
For our battle
Now, enter into my frozen hall
You can’t escape, you’ve gone too far
Prepare, human, your fight is now
Show me your might before you die

Intermission

Odin spake:
'Answer my ninth question- all commend your wisdom,
Vafthrudnir, learned in lore:
whence comes the wind that stirs up waves
but is never seen itself?'
Vafthrudnir said:
'A giant sits at the end of the sky
clad in an eagle's cloak;
his moving wings are what make the wind
that men feel on their faces.'
-The Lay of Vafthrudnir, Patricia Terry translation.

Awakening

Face me, Fornjot, you treacherous fuck
Come forth from the darkness and taste my steel
You can’t hide from fate, usurper of the throne
You fool. Has your hubris made you fucking blind?
I see your every move, your every weakness.
I will empty out your veins, frozen blood will fill this hall
No one will remember you, your name will be forgotten
“I will kill you, pathetic fucking worm.
I will smash you beneath a fist of stone.
My reign will begin, kindled by your blood.
Mankind and gods erased from hallowed halls of time.”
I draw my blade and step into the hall
My blood runs cold in my veins
I hold my breath and raise my torch
I gaze at the tyrant’s face
I throw my torch in his eye
Growling, he retreats
Light leaves the hall the chamber goes black
Darkness surrounds me I close my eyes
Now in the darkness we fight
Claws and blade collide
I can see his glowing eye
One destroyed with fire
In the darkness, he seeks to eviscerate me
I know now what I must do to defeat this foe
I will use his grotesque strength to seal off the hall
Fornjot charged with all his might
I leapt to the side, his mass crushing the wall
The hall shook and the roof began to crumble
He cried out, the mountain collapsed
I know my fate now I know who I am
I have become a martyr for my kin
My name will live on forever,
I seal myself and Fornjot into the hall
Crushing his skull, slaying him
I am Magnus, Slayer of Giants
My name will live on forever
I am Magnus, Slayer of Giants
My name will live on forever
